Guangdong province is ramping up efforts to attract and retain AI talent following the departures of DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng and Moonshot AI founder Yang Zhilin to Beijing. The initiative welcomed nearly 40 Tsinghua University computer science students this week as part of a broader strategy to close China's AI talent gap.
