Vercel launches managed base images for sandbox environments, deprecates legacy runtimes

Vercel introduced Managed Images (VMI), a set of versioned open-source base images for sandbox environments. Version 3 of the Sandbox SDK defaults to the universal image which ships with Node.js, Python, common coding agents and standard utilities, eliminating the need for custom image builds. The switch also moves the default OS from Amazon Linux to Ubuntu.
